Just Wanted to Speak Up My Mind

It's been awhile I last blogged about any events, coz I haven't really been to any recently. Well, I did, but somehow I didn't take much pictures or don't really see a need of taking much pictures & have them blogged, as those are just casual events I've been; nothing special, nothing to be kept as remembrance. It's been quite a quiet 2011, as I wanted it to be - non-explosive & not so happening. Because I've noticed that people around me, including those strangers whom I have no idea who they are, especially girls are having weird dagger stares at me, not that I'm bothered or any of sorts, but I don't know what's with people nowadays that they are rather inferiority complex about themselves & hate those who dress up, worse are the ones who dress up better than them or something like that. Don't blame me. Sorry for being too cute, I'm born this way. :)

It has also came to my attention that one of my old pal messaged me on my mobile one fine Sunday evening while we actually took the same lift up to Golden Village(GV), Plaza Singapura(PS). I didn't notice that he was in the lift with his girlfriend, as I have the habit not noticing people around me anymore, well, for one reason, I don't give a damn about your stares, so technically all of you are invisible to me, somehow. On the other hand, I'm trained that way as a model to ignore nosy stares especially when having street fashion photography. Then again, I would acknowledge anyone of you if you come up to me & say hi. :)

He told me that he couldn't message much with his girlfriend around. He had ever told his girlfriend before about who I was, in fact an old friend whom we have known for many years already. She got jealous & asked him if he's gonna say hi to me. He said, "yep!" & he got smacked, slapped, pinched, whatever a jealous girlfriend will do. Something which I will never understand. She started questioning about why we're not together even we have known each other for so many years, why this why that? He kind of gave up & explained to me few days later why he couldn't continue messaging, to stop her from making a mountain out of a mole hill, which will cause him another sleepless night. Well, I understand, so don't have to worry. I know I tend to cause such effects on girls, especially those who are inferiority complex. I have only few words to tell you girls, no one out there is comparing with you, or want to outshine you intentionally. You are you & we are all the many individuals. Don't be what you are not, be confident & be yourself. The only person who can let you down is yourself. It's a brighter tomorrow.

And for those who can't get over yourself & carry on spreading rumors & slandering others, here's a quote for you, "Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools & accepted by idiots". You are whichever stage you're at.

Last but not least, I am still glad that I can still be what I am; standing tall & proud, always happy doing whatever I'm doing. Cheerio! :D

The Museum Of Horrors 2011

21st Oct to 2nd Nov, 2011 ~ For a fortnight, I was a temporary staff of MovieMania manning the front desk for their Museum Of Horrors exhibit held at Scape Mall. It was a rather harrowing, but yet interesting experience dealing with & watching all sort of people passing by me, going into the exhibit. Not used to talking for a prolonged period of time, answering enquiries & sometimes, nonsensical questions. Got the cough, sore throat & lost my voice on the last few days.

Welcome to the Museum Of Horrors!

This was the second time MovieMania organized & operated the Museum Of Horrors, coinciding with Halloween. Compared to the previous year operation, Museum Of Horrors 2011 had more than double the items/sets & was much more intensive. Operation duration was also increased, from 5 to 14 days. Feedbacks received from some patrons deem it way much better than the first try & a number claiming that this year's Museum Of Horrors was better than similar concepts set up by RWS or Sentosa Corp.

What's the Museum Of Horrors? Well, it's something like those haunted house exhibits with static displays, fright devices & scare talents/actors thrown in. For the braver souls, it will be no big deal. However, everyone has different levels of fear or phobia.
Why would people pay money to be frightened? For some, to be terrified & screaming out their fear is like a drug or a stress relief. For a few, it might be admiration for grotesque works of art. For others, it's for want of experiencing something out-of-the-ordinary or exciting in their dull & mundane life. For many, it's Halloween!
During those 2 weeks, I'd seen or heard from the crew, all sort of reactions ranging from irritating/annoying to weird, hilarious & the hysterical. Screamers were quite common. Some were so frightened till they cried or knees turned to jelly, stumped, unable to stand or move. And there were some who had bought tickets, took 2 steps into the exhibit, freaked out & fled, refusing to enter again. Didn't heard of wet pants or urine puddle. Hmmm... should improve on the tactics of the scare talents/actors next year! LOL! =P

Scream!

Are you ready for an experience full of terror, your worst nightmare come true? Be afraid, be very afraid!

The Beauty or The Beast?

Here are some of what were in store for the unwary at the Museum Of Horrors 2011. Most of these were life-size dioramas inspired by horror movies. Due to the operation timing, I have no chance of taking pics with any of the scare talents/actors which was a pity. Anyway, let loose the frights & the tales of gory begin...

Haunting Creepy Crawlies

Hoist the color, me hearties! Sword-swing vicious pirates swarming & adding to your problem, they are...

Pirates Of The Undead!

Think your life is a torture? Ending up at the hostel with a wrong turn would be much worse.

Cut Them Apart & Serve Them Up!

Zombies attack! To arms or you'll be left for dead!

Smash Them or Shoot Them!

Eastern myth & Western legend sawing a skeleton.

Ms Bad-Hair-Day, Angry Furry, Mad Porky & Mr. Bones

Think you're brave enough to play in Chucky's room or sit on Hannibal's electric chair?

Little Scary, Shocking Fun

Prepare for an aliens invasion!

Hunter or Hunted?

Sound of chains dragging, image of bull head & horse face...

Which Level of Chinese Hell?

And now, the FunHouse. Not for the weak hearted, a tunnel-like walk-through which guarantee you a panicky 3D experience!

The Ultimate Dread

How can anyone not love clowns?

Who Hates Clowns?

On Halloween, staffs of MovieMania were invited to Zirca for a Halloween party. (In the top image of the pic below, from left to right: Jason, me, Merlin, Reno, Rocky & Conrad.)

We ain't afraid of no ghost...

On the last day, at the end of the show, everyone who were involved in the Museum Of Horrors gathered for a group photo.

Frightening At Your Service!

My pics can't do justice on how frightening the Museum Of Horrors can be for some people & also, I do not wanna ruin the surprises. We will improve & hopefully, you will be up for it next year!

In closing, I would like to thanks staffs & crew members who had worked/cooperated with me during the operation of Museum Of Horrors 2011. And my most sincere thanks to Reno for being a kind, understanding & generous boss. It was a pleasure working with you guys & hope to do it again!

A Brief Update

It's been some time I'd done any blogging. Excuses = work stress, tired, listless, too busy with a project & fallen ill. Here's a brief update for the month of October.

Save The World Saddest Dolphins
Tuesday, 4th of October, 2011 ~ Went to an event, a public dialogue session hosted by ACRES executive director Louis Ng with Mr. Ric O’Barry, marine mammal specialist and star of the award-winning documentary film “The Cove.” This event, sponsored by the Grand Copthorne Waterfront hotel, drew a crowd of over 500 people from all walks of life. I'm 1 of the 500+ who went in support of ACRES & listened to O’Barry speaking on his latest campaign advocating for RWS(Resort World Sentosa) to return a family of 25 wild-caught dolphins to their Solomon Island home.

@ACRES public dialogue session

Ric O’Barry had a large Mastercard poster(with his name on it) with him saying that he was planning to cut it up in front of the audience, but fortunately, Mastercard called at the very last minute pledging to cut off all promotional relationships with Marine Life Park which are holding the captive dolphins.

Had an fascinating & informative evening listening to O’Barry sharing his extraordinary insights on the lives of dolphins, explaining in detail why dolphins simply do not belong in captivity, inspiring the public to take up a role in helping dolphins and conserving them in the wild. Before this event, after watching "The Cove", I had tremendous respect for Ric O’Barry, a single individual fighting against all odds for the freedom of captive dolphins. He's my kind of hero! xD

Onward 2011 Fashion Show
Friday, 14th October 2011 ~ Heard about the opening of Avalon, touted as an ultra chic club. Got an invite to Avalon for a fashion show. So I went to check it out. Frankly speaking, the ugly angular building jagging out into Marina Bay does not appeal to me. View of Singapore waterfront is not bad from that vacant point though.

Got a goodie bag full of useless catalogs. My mom will appreciate the nice cloth bag for carrying her grocery. =P

The Fall/Winter Fashion Show was hosted by Oli Pettigrew.

In addition, an edgy hair show was presented by Shunji Matsuo, practicing his skill/talent on Cheesie, 1 of Malaysia top blogger. Dunno who she is, but when I heard her online nick, I was wondering who in the right mind would named themselves as Cheesy? Or does she truly know the meaning of the word? I found out later it's 'Cheesie' instead of 'Cheesy', but still... too close for comfort. =P

Cheesy Hair Show? =P

Almost all the clothes in the fashion show do not suit my taste. Too dull & conservative for a non-conformist me.

Found some fashion displays in the mall more to my liking.

Went in search of my good friend, Tasha, who had just recently started working at Pangaea, the 'Ultra Lounge' which cater to hi-flying celebrities or the super elite. Tasha brought me in for a tour into the hang-out of the super rich. She told me afterward that I'm her lucky charm as she got her first tip on that evening of my visit. xD
