SHINE Youth Festival, Cosmo Youth/Mascot Parade 2012

Saturday, 30th June 2012 ~ On this day, more than 12,000 youths came together, along with Mr Chan Chun Sing, Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, to express their commitment to the community at the SHINE Youth Festival 2012. As an aim to increase public awareness of community issues & promote social responsibility, part of Orchard Road (from Nee Ann City to Somerset 313) was transformed into a fantastical wonderland as thousands of youths & young-at-heart dressed up as movie/anime, comic/manga, game or animal characters to advocate their causes in the Cosmo Youth/Mascot Parade. As a member of Movie Mania, I participated in the Cosmo Youth/Mascot Parade dressed as a KittyCat schoolgirl. =P

At 5.30 pm, after ribbon cutting by VIPs, the parade was flagged off by Mr Chan Chun Sing, Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports.

We walked from the starting point at Nee Ann City to Somerset 313, made a loop & back to Nee Ann City.

It was a fun-filled day for me, waving to the crowd, taking pics with the public & overall, dispensing happiness. One baby was so happy at the event that he bounced/jumped over into my arms from his mother's, so eager to have his pic taken with me! LOL! =P
