Hamster Merchandising

Dear fans/friends,

I'm trying to do some silly exclusive merchandising of myself. Not too sure if anyone of you might be interested. However, I'm coming up with an idea of T-shirt printing, for this first round, it's gonna be an exclusive 10 pieces of the design below. It's not gonna be really cheap, as it's an exclusive collection, because it's gonna be a one off thing & to be termed as collectibles. Like you know, heehee, like having a "hamster" of your own. :P

There might be other designs coming up if the response is good & if there's more demand. You might wanna suggest other designs you're looking forward to etc. & email to me at ihengbok@gmail.com.

If all the above don't work, I'll probably scrap the entire idea. So, let's see how is goes, and if you guys support me & my silly idea. Haha!

Have a nice day. :)

Signing off,
Nikita Hengbok
xoxo

Mascot Parade 2011

Saturday, 2nd July, 2011 ~ It's been quite a while since I dress-up in costume. Most probably it was due to the fact that I was busy chasing Mother Nature, running around at nature parks & walks. My weird characters most times lead me to do things very spontaneously. My random thoughts jumping here & there, doing 1 thing & suddenly switch my attention to another subject which have no connection with the previous one. Just look at my entries here or my FaceBook wall & you will know what I mean. Heeheehee... =P
I'd given Cosfest 2011 a miss, but decided to participate in Mascot Parade 2011 as a member of Movie Mania organization.
Dressed up as a Neko-chan(KittyCat Girl), I met up with my good friend, Tasha @The Cathay. We were there in support for the "Save The World's Saddest Dolphins" campaign roadshow. After that, we went to Scape Mall to meet up with members of Movie Mania before the start of the parade.

At outside Scape Mall, we were intercepted by staffs of DBS @Shine Youth Festival & persuaded to pose for photos at their promotional booth.

Met up with Movie Mania members & took some pics with some of them in their fabulous costumes. Love the Bumblebee! And incidentally, I'm going to watch the movie later in that evening. Transformers 3 ROX! xD

Even Tasha got into the act. She told me that it was fun & might want to join me at cos-playing in the next event.

I borrowed a few props/replicas for my own pics...

Fully Armed KittyCat! xD

We walked to Orchard Central where the event starting point was. At about 5.30pm, the parade was flagged off by Mr. Yam Ah Mee, guest of honor of Shine Youth Festival.

From Orchard Central, we paraded along Orchard Road, in a semi-circular route back to Scape Mall.

Watch the parade/event in the official video below of which I appeared at 0:42 & 1:40 =P

And at the end of the parade route, I chanced upon Mr. Yam Ah Mee & quickly went up to have a pic taken with him. The reason why he wasn't facing my camera is because there were lots of official media photographers asking him to face theirs. Nonetheless, I'm very happy that I got a pic with him. Haha... xD

Note: Mr. Yam Ah Mee, as the Returning Officer for the Singapore Parliamentary General Elections 2011, shot to fame overnight, becoming an instant celebrity in quite an unexpected way. More details about him in the links above.

Greatly enjoyed Mascot Parade 2011 & hope Tasha will be able to join me at the next cos-play event. Cya!

Let The Dolphins Go! ~ Save The World's Saddest Dolphins!

2nd July, 2011 ~ Tasha & me went down to the "Save The World's Saddest Dolphins" roadshow @The Cathay. This campaign is organized by Acres. We love dolphins & we already showed our support in their FaceBook page, but we also wanna do it in person. And we appeal to all of you, my friends, to help save these dolphins.

Save The World's Saddest Dolphins!

The texts below were conveyed from Acres website:
Dolphins are highly social creatures that are accustomed to being in family pods. They are sensitive mammals capable of great emotion and feeling and intelligence. To abduct these animals from the wild, to rip them from their homes, to snatch them away from their mates & relatives and put them in a box is especially cruel. To use them for entertainment to generate money is downright exploitative. But that’s exactly what Resorts World Sentosa wants to do.
25 bottlenose dolphins that once roamed free & wild in the vast ocean are now facing a life of captivity, boredom, stress, frustration & slow death, thanks to RWS. 2 of these dolphins had already died during their ordeal. And what's life going to be like for the rest? Their world has already shrunk to a square sea pen, devoid of variety, bereft of sea life. They can’t hunt anymore. They beg & jump for handouts of dead fish. There’s nowhere for them to roam, except back & forth. And nothing to do except turn round & round & go slowly mad.
The late ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau said: “No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine tanks can be considered normal.”

These dolphins face a bleak future. It is up to all of us to get Resorts World Sentosa to rethink their decision to keep them in captivity. Kindly lend your voice & support in asking them to let the dolphins go. Please help save the World's Saddest Dolphins!
